Fr. C.P. Varkey era: In the very first year of his assuming office as Principal, Fr C.P.Varkey S.J. revitalized the system of weekly tests, introduced weekly quiz programme for std. VI to VIII, provided for professional training for a total of 200 students in cricket, hockey and basketball, raised funds for 25 full or partial scholarships, paved the way for the Birth of the bi-weekly newsletter LENS, added the SSLC curriculum, raised the bar of excellence by producing 5 out of 35 NTS scholars in Kerala and kept up the tradition of 100% first class pass in all board exams.. The major construction during his tenure was the Western wing of the ICSE block.
